Reimagining ATI
Reimagining ATI is a framework and professional practice platform dedicated to transforming Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) programs through anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and youth-centered approaches. We equip forensic social workers and allied practitioners with the tools and frameworks they need to drive systemic change from the inside out.
Founder:
Dr. Laura A. Smith, DSW, LCSW is a forensic social worker, educator, and published scholar with over a decade of experience working at the intersection of criminal justice and social work practice. She earned her Doctor of Social Work degree from the NYU Silver School of Social Work and has authored peer-reviewed scholarship centered on anti-oppressive approaches within forensic social work. Through Reimagining ATI, Dr. Smith translates research into practical tools, training, and dialogue for practitioners committed to more restorative and equitable approaches to youth diversion and intervention.
